Treatment

Indications for Treatment:

  • Crowding
  • Spacing
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Clicking and popping of the TMJ (in some cases)
  • Some cases of grinding habits
  • Thumb/finger sucking habits
  • Mouth breathing

Duration of Treatment

The duration of orthodontic treatment can range from a few months to a few years depending on the individual need. Teeth move 1mm per month. The following factors can affect treatment time:

  • Patient's ability to keep follow-up appointments every 4-6 weeks
  • Number of breakages
  • Oral hygiene
  • General level of cooperation

Appliance System

We use Roth appliances--the same system used by 90% of the orthodontists in the U.S. By customizing these appliances Dr. Rahman minimizes the use of hardware and reduces the cost of treatment.   Ultimately, it is Dr. Rahman’s technique and experience developed and gained over 18 years of practice that deliver the best possible results. 

Dr. Rahman has extensive training in treating patients with a sophisticated technique she has been perfecting for over 18 years involving advanced expertise in wire bending. She does not depend on bulky manufactured appliances that are commonly used but often resented by young patients. She uses minimum hardware and achieves the best possible results. This is one reason we are able to keep costs down: we use appliances customized by the doctor rather than manufactured appliances.

Special Needs

We welcome all individuals with special needs. In fact, we have special places in our hearts for special needs people. With love and patience we are able to treat them very successfully. Dr. Rahman is personally involved with The ARC of Orange County and the Orange County Special Olympics.

Surgery

At Triangle Orthodontics our philosophy is mostly non-surgical. However, there are situations in which braces alone will not produce the desired results and surgery is indicated. One of our specialties is a non-surgical approach in borderline cases.

Whitening

We offer in the office whitening treatments as well as do-it-yourself home kits. Treatment results in your teeth being up to 10 shades lighter.
